The white edition retains the same embossed composition but inverts the register from shadow to light and is housed in a warmer wooden frame. Together, the two works form a diptych of simultaneous disappearances: the fiat system vanishing from both ends of the tonal spectrum. One reads as absence against darkness; the other as absence against light. The dollar sign is gone from both, and both are monuments to its going.
