The US one-dollar bill at 200 cm wide, George Washington’s portrait replaced by a screaming face, mouth open, hands to cheeks, in the teal and black of the Federal Reserve note’s own palette.
Gold leaf marks what remains valuable in the composition; silkscreen delivers the visual shock.
Since 2000, the dollar has lost 76% of its purchasing power through inflation.
Washington is screaming because fiat has lost its value. The note is legal tender. The Treasurer’s signature is still on it.
